Tier 2 is taught by Mark Cornelius, a serving member of the IICRC Board of Directors. Tier 3 is taught by Rashelle Cornelius, EMTA Technical Instructor and IICRC Master Water Restorer, Master Fire and Smoke Restorer and Master Textile Cleaner. Both teach for the Emergency Mitigation Technician Academy (EMTA), an IICRC approved school.
Tier 2: Mark Cornelius
Mark Cornelius has been in the restoration industry since 1982 and has taught it since 2007. He is a serving member of the IICRC Board of Directors and an IICRC Vice President: when you train with UKAME, you are learning the standard from the leadership of the organisation that writes it.

- IICRC approved instructor since 2007 and an IICRC Certified Triple Master
- One of the first people in the world to hold the ANSI-accredited IICRC Mold Remediation Specialist (MRS) certification, and part of the beta testing of its exam
- Founded EMTA, an IICRC approved school, in 2014 and is its head instructor, teaching over a thousand students each year across the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
- More than 40 years of hands-on experience, including founding Disaster Recovery Industries, Inc. in 2001, a full-service restoration firm with over 30 employees
- Has served on IICRC Technical Advisory Committees for Trauma and Crime Scene, Fire and Smoke, and Odour Control, and is a member of the IICRC S700 (fire and smoke restoration) standards committee
- Writes his own course curriculums and presentations, with safety as chapter one
Why this matters
The IICRC publishes the ANSI/IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation, the benchmark UKAME training courses are aligned with. Training delivered by a serving IICRC board member means what you learn is not an interpretation of the standard at arm's length: it comes from the people who set it.
Tier 3: Rashelle Cornelius
Rashelle Cornelius is a Technical Instructor at EMTA and has spent 25 years in the cleaning and restoration industry, working as a technician, a project manager and a business owner. She holds three IICRC Master designations and still works across every phase of job production and management, so the Tier 3 course is taught by someone who plans and runs remediation projects today.

- Instructs IICRC approved Water Restoration Technician (WRT) and Trauma and Crime Scene Technician (TCST) courses, and OSHA 10 and 30 general industry safety

- Founded Disaster Recovery Industries, Inc. in 2001, and currently takes part in all phases of job production and management
- Has presented lectures for large consulting companies and consulted for many restoration firms
- Brings both sides of a claim to the classroom: a professional restorer who has also lived through a water-damaged home and lost a home to fire

Tier 2
Mould Remediation (Tier 2)
Practical training for contractors, maintenance workers, and technicians who need skills for safe and effective mould remediation. Safe systems of work for the people doing the job.
Course overview
This livestream training via Zoom is designed specifically for contractors, maintenance workers, and technicians who need practical remediation skills to safely handle and remediate mould in residential and commercial properties. It is built for operatives working to pre-prepared risk assessments and method statements, and is taught live by Mark Cornelius.
Important: not for management
This Tier 2 course is designed for hands-on operatives only. If you are in a management position, supervisory role, or responsible for developing remediation strategies, you should take the Tier 3 Remedial Operations & Planning course instead.
Who should attend
Cleaning and restoration professionals, HVAC technicians, construction workers, property maintenance personnel, and anyone involved in hands-on mould remediation work. Not suitable for managers or supervisors, who should take Tier 3.

- Health and safety on remediation projects: COSHH, PPE and RPE, fit testing, confined spaces, and heat stress
- Measuring moisture and psychrometry, and how to identify moisture sources
- The standards that govern the work: UK health and safety legislation, BSI PAS 64, and ANSI/IICRC S500 & S520
- Building remediation in practice: inspection, drying, containment, negative air, cleaning, and post-remediation clearance
