Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course
The three day WRT course teaches how water damage is classified, how buildings dry, and how to run and document a drying project. It is the prerequisite for the Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) course, and the step most UKAME Tier 3 attendees take next.

What the WRT course covers
Water Damage Restoration Technician is the IICRC's course for the people who dry out homes and commercial buildings after leaks, floods and burst pipes. Over three days it works through the classification of water losses, the psychrometry behind drying, the equipment used and how to place and monitor it, moisture measurement, containment, and the documentation insurers and loss adjusters expect.
For mould remediation specialists it closes a gap: most mould is a moisture problem first, and WRT is the course that teaches how to find, measure and remove the moisture. It is also the required first step before the AMRT mould course.

- Optional two hour IICRC exam. Certification requires completing the course and passing the exam. In person the exam is sat on the last day; livestream delegates sit it online, proctored, within 45 days.

- Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT), the four day mould course, which requires WRT first
- Standard
- Taught against the S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration, alongside UK health and safety duties
